Type Locality and Naming
By the Korumbay collective farm, Shokhetau Mountains, N. Nuratau Range. R.R. Usmanov et al. in 1993 (Korsakov et al., 1993f.). Stratotype in the area of the Korumbay collective farm, Shokhetau Mountains.
Synonym: Korumbayskaya Suite, Корумбайская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Predominantly dark to black limestones, less often light, sometimes reddish, variegated, less often dolomites, locally with clayey, ferruginous admixture. In the W. part of Shokhetau, limestones are strongly dolomitized. Thickness 300-350m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably increases the section of the Tyulkin Fm
Upper contact
Upper boundary unknown.

Contains amphiporoids - Amphipora ramosa Phill., A. ramosiensis Bog. and others, brachiopods - Stringocephalus burtini Defr., indicating the Givetian age of the sv. (460).
